March against ritual killings
On July 7, Save the Children Eswatini together with Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organizations (Cango), Royal Eswatini Police and members of the Children’s Consortium amongst others formed part of a campaign to stop the escalating ritual killings in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The march graced by Hhohho Regional Administrator Prince Tsekedi, European Union Embassador to Eswatini Esmeralda Hernandez Aragones, former Mbabane East Member of Parliament Esther Dlamini and Mbabane Alliance Reverend J.V Mazibuko, to name a few, saw over 300 Mbabane residents including Primary and High school pupils braving the cold weather, Marching from the Coronation Park in Mbabane to Msunduza sports ground.
Save the Children Eswatini Director Dumisani Mnisi amongst others gave his speech condemning the killing of children which in most cases, has been associated with rituals.
The director reminded those present that every child is a full human being, with every right to life; hence we all need to work together in ensuring that the best interest of children are met, in terms of Survival, Development, Participation and Non-Discrimination.
The march was a success, with great coverage from the media houses including The swazi Observer, Times of Swaziland and the Eswatini TV station.
