CANGO Children and HIV Consortium member training
Friday, October 19 marked the last day of a three day workshop for Co-ordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations (CANGO) children and HIV consortium members.
The workshop held at the Riverside, Bigbend was aimed at providing an opportunity for participants to get a deeper understanding of their own sexuality and to help participants understand the role of Somprehensive Sexuality Education and Information (CSE & I) in breaking the silence on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) issues amongst other things.
Organizations present included Cabrini Ministries, Super Buddies and SWANEPHA to mention just a few.
Super Buddies Communications Nosisa Ngwenyama said she was happy to be part of the workshop.
“There are a lot of things that the workshop unearthed from me. I realized that a lot of us are quick to judge whenever things are not going the way we want them to go; hence the workshop reminded me that before I can Judge, I should put myself on the person am judging’s shoes,” she said.
She continued saying, “the approach used during the workshop was the best approach as it gave us (participants) the opportunity to reflect on our own lives which is very essential for a person dealing with people on daily basis.”
On the other hand, Save the Children Eswatini’s SRHR project lead, Nondumiso Simelane said the workshop was a success.
“Participants were vibrant and eager to learn; hence they also had their own good stories to share,” she said.
